How to Prepare for My Child’s First Appointment?
- Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to develop a relationship with your family and demonstrate that the dentist’s office is nothing to be afraid of.
- Don’t stress! Kids often take their cues from their parents about how to respond to certain situations. If you maintain a calm demeanor and act like a visit to the dentist is nothing to worry about, your child will most likely feel the same way!
- Talk with your child and explain what will happen during the appointment. If your child has a “comfort item” like a favorite toy or blanket, we encourage you to bring it along to the appointment.
- We will examine your child’s mouth to ensure dental development is progressing on track.
